Background

Sara was born and bred in Brecon Mid Wales and brought up in a motorsport family.
She first started in the sport when she was 16 in 2005, codriving for her father Jonathan in a Subaru Impreza.

As soon as she turned 17 it was Sara’s turn to have a go in the drivers seat, driving a Honda Civic Type R.
2007 and 2008 Sara contested the Welsh Tarmac Championship and the BTRDA Tarmac Championship.

In 2009 Sara Changed to driving a 4 wheel drive Subaru on gravel events where she contested in the Welsh Forestry Championship and the ANWCC forestry Championship.

2010 Sara stuck to gravel surfaces, competeing in the Welsh and ANWCC Championships. Also winning the Prestigious John Easson Award for young rally drivers (With thanks to the 2300 club and the family of John Easson) Sara also competed in the 2010 Wales Rally GB, the UK round of the FIA World Rally Championship, finishing 4th overall at her first attempt.

In 2011 Sara Competed in the BTRDA Forestry Championship, again in her Subaru Impreza, along with a few extra events.

2012 saw Sara competing in the Pirelli MSA Welsh National Forestry Championship and Welsh Clubmans Forestry Championship, Winning the Ladies trophy and achieving 2nd place overall in the Group N Class.

For 2013 Sara decided not to register for a specific championship, which meant she could compete in rallies in Southern Ireland as well as the UK. As a result, Sara won two events outright. The first being the Swansea Bay Rally in May, exactly 30 years after a female driver, Louise Aitken – Walker MBE, last won a UK event. Then, in September, Sara came home first place overall in the Red Kites Stages Rally. The 2009 Red Kite was Sara’s first rally on gravel surfaces, starting as last car away and finishing in 21st postition overall – in 2013, Sara was first car away, finishing 1st overall. Sara also competed in two forestry events in Southern Ireland during the year.

2014 – Not the best start to the year with leaking power steering fluid on the Plains Rally in May followed by gremlins in the electrical system which have so far eluded all the best technical brains. Very disappointing after 2013 successes. The end of 2014 saw Sara compete in Wales Rally GB International finishing 43rd Overall

2015 – Chosen to attend the FIA Womens in Motorsport Sealine Cross Country Selection in Qatar. One of six female Drivers and Codrivers from around the world to attend a weeks training in the desert.

BTRDA Mixed Surface Challenge – 1st in Class and 2nd Overall

2016 – Winner of the Goldstar Elite Award with the British Womens Racing Drivers Club

2017 – First year for Sara competing outside of the UK in the Renault Clio R3T French Trophy. Finishing 9th Overall, 3rd Junior and 1st Female.
Winner of the Goldstar Elite Award with the British Womens Racing drivers Club also Winning the Louise Atkin Walker Trophy for the Rally Section and the Gabriel Konig Award for International Achivement.

2018 – Sara aims to compete in the Renault Clio R3T Championship for the second year.
