Sara Williams is at Car Dealer Magazines Conference & Automotive Expo Silverstone 2015

Britain’s #1 female rally driver Sara Williams will be at Silverstone on the 9th June as part of a special ‘Women in The Motor Industry’ session during Car Dealer magazines Conference & Automotive Expo 2015. The Welsh rally star will join a panel of prominent women involved in the car industry offering her insights of what it means to be a woman in what has historically been a male dominated sector. Sara will be exploring subjects ranging from her motorsport career, tips for success and her great experience as part of the team at Brecon Motors MG dealership.

The Expo will be the biggest of its kind in the UK, bringing together manufacturers, dealers and suppliers for a day of celebration and industry networking. With 12 workshops and over 70 exhibitors plus keynote speakers from Renault Dacia, Twitter, Google and Auto Express; the event promises to be an informative and enjoyable day. Sara and her fellow panellists will be answering questions and engaging in discussion in an invite-only female forum. The talk will take place in the one of the main conference areas, the venue will be decorated with various iconic road and racing cars including Sara’s V-Ex Virtual Exhibitions sponsored Group N Subaru Impreza. The talk will be hosted by Louise Goodman, who will lead discussions between the panel and audience throughout.

The conference is a perfect opportunity for smaller retailers and outlets to boost their business, with all the big names and smaller motor factors showcasing their services and products in one location. In the afternoon discussion session however all eyes will be on Sara – especially after her highly commendable WRC debut finish at Wales Rally GB in October last year. Her combined experience of professional rallying and the realities of running a local car dealership should ensure interesting insights for all those who attend.

Sara has long challenged the conventions of motorsport – following in the footsteps of her father Jon into rallying at the age of just 16. Not only has Sara worked her way up the motorsport ladder to WRC competition – she has climbed the commercial ladder at Brecon Motors also. Sara’s story is one of hard work and dedication; during the weekdays helping to sell cars and weekends spent howling through Welsh woodlands and gravel tracks. As the first woman to win a rally event outright for 30 years (since Louise Atkin Walker) in 2013, Sara by no means participates in anything to make up the numbers. Expect a frank slice of what it means to be a participator in a crucial facet of the British economy; but also being part of the continuation of the country’s rich motorsport tradition.
